The error live.watch#

user: the script can change it: the error says what happened in the experiment’s names, and what to write instead.

Where MIME gives it, with what its message says happened and what its action says to do ({…} is filled in from the experiment):

  • in mime/live/_state.py:

    • what happened: --watch {…} is not <node>.<field> or <node>.<field>[index, ...]

    • what to do: name a field of the frames, with an index where it is not one number, as '--watch <node>.<field>[<low>:<high>]'

  • in mime/live/_state.py:

    • what happened: --watch names {…}, which the frames do not carry

    • what to do: {…} Add a field to the frames with '--select <node>.<field>'

  • in mime/live/_state.py:

    • what happened: --watch {…} gives {…} indices to {…}, which has {…} dimension{…} (shape {…})

    • what to do: give at most {…}: '--watch {…}[{…}]'

  • in mime/live/_state.py:

    • what happened: --watch {…}: {…} is not an integer or a low:high slice

    • what to do: write each index as an integer, a '<low>:<high>' slice, or ':' for all of the dimension

  • in mime/live/_state.py:

    • what happened: --watch {…}: index {…} is outside dimension {…} of {…}, which has {…}

    • what to do: use an index from {…} to {…}: '--watch {…}[{…}]'

  • in mime/live/_state.py:

    • what happened: --watch {…}: the slice {…} selects nothing of dimension {…} of {…}, which has {…}

    • what to do: use a slice inside '0:{…}': '--watch {…}[0:{…}]'

  • in mime/live/_state.py:

    • what happened: --watch none cannot be given with other names

    • what to do: give '--watch none' alone, or name the rows without it

Reading an error and reaching its full traceback: reading an error. Every code: the index.
